Reality TV duo Michaele Salahi and Tareq Salahi got away with something big on Tuesday when they managed to crash the White House State Dinner being held for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Michaele Salahi is a former model and cheerleader for the Washington Redskins. Tareq is president of America’s Polo Cup and owns Oasis Winery.
The couple are also aspiring members of the cast of a reality show called The Real Housewives of DC, set to air in 2010.
Michaele proudly showed off pictures from the exclusive gala on her Facebook page. The pictures show the couple posing with Vice President Joe Biden, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty, CBS anchor Katie Couric, Rep. Ed Royce, various U.S. Marines in dress blues, Arun K. Singh, Indian Ambassador to the U.S. and Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO.
According to the Secret Service, the Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating how the pair got through a checkpoint that would have verified they were on the actual guest list, which consisted of 300 invited guests.
They are quick to mention, however, that the couple had to go through the same weapon’s checkpoint as the invited guests. Luckily, the security breach never put President Barack Obama in any real danger.
