It’s official. Michael Phelps has now won more medals than any other Olympian IN HISTORY!
Just moments ago, Phelps won his record-breaking 19th medal in the 4x200m relay.
Phelps, along with Ryan Lochte, Ricky Berens, and Conor Dwyer, won the gold medal for the U.S. France took the silver medal while China won the bronze.
Michael Phelps, the man from our hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, now has 15 gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals.
The previous Olympic medal record was held by Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina, who won 18 medals in all over the course of three Olympics.
