Miami Cannibal Attack Rudy EugeneNope, he’s not a zombie or some far-fetched creature from a sci-fi movie.

The naked man who was shot to death on Sunday while eating another man’s face off was 31-year-old Rudy Eugene.

Even before Sunday’s bizarre assault, Rudy had a criminal record. He had previously been arrested for a battery charge when he was 16 year old and had been arrested seven other times between 2004 and 2009.

Eugene’s charges were mostly of the petty variety…trespassing and marijuana-related offenses mainly. However, a woman to whom he was married for one year claims he became extremely violent toward her.

Rudy’s ex-wife, who filed for divorce in 2007, said:

“I wouldn’t say he had mental problem, but he always felt like people was against him. No one was for him, everyone was against him.”

Eventually Rudy Eugene lost his home to foreclosure, but according to the new tenants, he would still show up uninvited at times, looking for mail.

Police believe that Rudy attacked his victim as a result of cocaine psychosis or an overdose of “bath salts,” a synthetic drug police say is being used as a new form of LSD.

Miami police are still asking any witnesses who have not yet come forward to please do so by calling 305-603-6350 to report any further details about the attack.
