Meet Ivy. She’s a ripe 104-years-old and she’s on Twitter (@ivybean104).
Ivy is an avid Facebook user, so Twitter seemed like the next best step for her. Thanks to the folks over at Geeksquad, she’s now tweeting.
Ivy isn’t the only senior citizen at Hillside Manor residential home in Bradford, west Yorks, to be venturing online.
Pat Wright, Residence Manager said: “All the residents are taking a leaf out of her book. Four signed up for ‘computer-college’ while others joined Facebook, surf the net and enjoy themselves with ten-pin bowling on the games console.”
Granted, this is one hell of a publicity stunt for Geeksquad. In fact, some of her tweets seems a little “forced”…
“I’m on Twitter! Come and follow my feed at IvyBean104.”
Do you know any 100-year-olds that know what a ‘feed’ is?
In fact, Ivy was signed up to Facebook two years ago by her care-person as“oldest person on Facebook”, presumably after they perturbed that a 97-year old French woman had gotten that claim earlier.
So, genuine or not, Ivy is the oldest Twitter-er on the planet, for now…
