A Maryland resident has been instructed to move his mailbox, after receiving mail there for 30 years.
The mail carrier has been delivering mail to Edwin Shirk‘s mailbox on Shank Road in Clear Spring for close to three decades.
Recently, though, he was told by the U.S. Postal Service that he must relocate his mailbox…at his own expense.
Clear Spring postmaster Lori Kriner says the road on which the mailbox is currently located is too narrow and it’s also difficult to navigate.
Therefore, the postal service has asked Shirk, along with two other people, to move their mailboxes to the intersection of Shank Road and Big Poo Road by July 25th.
Speaking of Big Poo, I can think of a nice gift for the mail carrier once all this is done.
What do you think? Should Shirk have to move his mailbox after getting mail there for 30 years?
