This week, the world was graced with the Martellus Bennett rap video. Add the Dallas Cowboys tight end to the list of people who need a little marketing and P.R. help this week.
The team has fined Bennett $22,000 for an expletive-laced YouTube video he broadcast earlier in the week on his own channel Marty B TV.
In the video, Bennett performed a free-style rap with Dessie Brown to the song “Get Money”. In it, he used profanity and mentioned the names of team owner Jerry Jones, tight end Jason Witten and, not to be left out, QB Tony Romo. Bennett used inflammatory terms toward African Americans and homosexuals.
In the Martellus Bennett rap video, he also wore an autographed Cowboys and was drinking.
According to a source, Bennett was fined under a clause in his contract for “conduct detrimental to the team”. The fine of $22,000 is equivalent to one game’s pay.
The video racked up 23,970 views on YouTube before it was removed. Martellus Bennett has since unleashed, what else?, an apology video on his YouTube channel…
