Martellus Bennett’s “Black Olympics” video is causing a commotion in the media world. The video involves Bennett eating some fried chicken, watermelon and drinking Kool-Aid…and he says that it’s not offensive.
Bennett, who was previously fined $22,000 by the Dallas Cowboys back in January for a YouTube video that knocked black and gay people, told Michael Irvin of ESPN that the “Black Olympics” video was designed to poke fun at stereotypes.
“Me and all my brothers were in the kitchen and as I looked around, I noticed we were eating every stereotype. We got chicken, Kool-Aid, watermelon, we might as well do a Black Olympics.
“We were just having fun and it was very funny for me and my brothers. When I look at it I just can’t stop laughing. If someone takes offense, I apologize.
“There’s white comedians that do stuff like that all the time. I think it’s funny to attack stereotypes.”
I can just hear the Cowboys laughing now, can’t you?
