Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox has just pitched the first perfect game in Major League Baseball in five years, leading the Sox over the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0 on Thursday afternoon.  It was just the 17th perfect game in baseball history.

Buehrle (11-3) faced the minimum number of batters, 27, and received a fantastic catch from center fielder Dewayne Wise in the ninth inning to preserve the perfect game. Wise came into the game at the start of the inning as a defensive replacement. When Gabe Kapler led off the ninth with a deep drive to left-center field, Wise sprinted, jumped and got his glove over the fence to keep the ball inside the park and record the out.

Mark Buehrle was mobbed by teammates after the game.
