YouTube finally got live video yesterday. CBS has embedded its Silverlight March Madness live coverage directly onto a YouTube channel.
You can check out the new, live coverage here – it’s impressive.
YouTube hasn’t previously offered live video, partly because it represents a serious infrastructure demand and expense. Also, however, several people at the company were rumored to be upset that they missed out on offering live coverage of President Obama’s inauguration.
It also seems quite ironic that Microsoft’s service is behind Google’s first “live video” event.
