lynette squeaky fromme Lynette Squeaky Fromme to Be Released Aug 16Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme is set to receive her first taste of freedom in over 30 years.

Fromme, the woman who tried to assassinate Gerald Ford, is going to be released on parole August 16, 2009.

Fromme, now 60, is being held at the Federal Medical Center at Carswell, Texas.

She was one of Charles Manson's few remaining followers...many others since then have abandoned him. It is not known whether or not she still corresponds with Manson, also in prison.

In 1975, Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme was convicted for pointing a gun at then-President Gerald Ford in California. Secret Service agents prevented her from firing. Later, it was determined that there was no bullet in the chamber, although it did contain a clip of ammunition.
