The head football coach at Louisiana State University, Les Miles, has discovered Twitter.
The usually vocal coach has decided that, in addition to shouting at players and refs during LSU games, he might as well Twitter too. Coach Miles now plans to tweet before and after games - and during half-time too.
The Coach thinks this will be a great way to recruit new players for his team. In today's competitive atmosphere, potential athletes are looking for just about anything that could put one school ahead of another. Technology is one of the biggest.
Les Miles' tweets will, however, be typed by an assistant, as coach will likely be too busy yelling and hollering.
Miles says that he hopes his tweeting will be a two-way conversation:
"Absolutely, it's for recruiting purposes. It allows us to communicate, to those people that subscribe, blasts of information...It's also an opportunity for those prospects that subscribe to communicate to us."
It will be interesting to hear what LSU thinks of the idea. It will also be interesting to see how much of a "two-way street" communicating with Les Miles will be.
