Longtime character actor Lou Jacobi died over the weekend at the age of 95.
Jacobi, who was born in Canada, died on Friday at his Manhattan home. His death has been confirmed by social worker Leonie Nowitz, who was overseeing Jacobi's care.
Lou Jacobi made his debut on Broadway in 1955 in "The Diary of Anne Frank," portraying one of the occupants of the attic in Amsterdam where the Franks had been hiding. He again played the same role in the 1959 movie version of the story.
Jacobi starred in about two dozen other movies, including the Dudley Moore comedy "Arthur," Woody Allen's "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex" and Barry Levinson's "Avalon."
He also appeared in several television programs, including "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "That Girl." He was a regular on "The Dean Martin Show" on NBC for two years in the early 1970s.
