IT’S FINALLY HERE: LOST: The Complete Collection
Yes, I said serIES finale spoilers, not seaSON finale spoilers.
Damon Lindelof recently attended the Comics on Comics event at Meltdown on Sunset. He really spilled a few precious beans on how the LOST series finale will play out.
SPOILER ALERT
How It Ends: Just to give you an idea of how Damon’s mind works, which could influence the series finale of LOST, the M*A*S*H finale is Damon’s favorite television series conclusion of all time.
No Libby for You: Libby’s story will not be resolved in the finale. Says Damon, “I have learned that if you kill someone off the show, they are less likely to cooperate with you.” Actress Cynthia Watros is ‘busy’ until further notice, and they can’t feasibly explain Libby without her.
What About the Numbers?: Finally. Lindelof says, “Here’s the story with numbers. The Hanso Foundation that started the Dharma Initiative hired this guy Valenzetti to basically work on this equation to determine what was the probability of the world ending in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Valenzetti basically deduced that it was 100 percent within the next 27 years, so the Hanso Foundation started the Dharma Initiative in an effort to try to change the variables in the equation so that mankind wouldn’t wipe it itself out.”
This leak was sprung via the online game and not on the TV show. Damon says this is because “that would be the worst thing ever. We have to make the show for the hard-core fans who care about the numbers, but we also have to make it for my mom, who just wants Sawyer to take his shirt off.”
Now about this season’s finale.
It’s called “The Incident”, otherwise knows as “The Fork in the Outlet“.
