Little Tykes has voluntarily recalled about 1.6 million of its workshop toys, some sold up to 15 years ago, after an 11-month boy was hospitalized after choking on a plastic nail that came with toy, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
Five different toys are being pulled:
- The Electronic Project Workshop, model 0914
- The Little HandiWorker Workhorse, model 0920/612237
- Home Improvements 2-Sided Workshop, model 4161
- Swirlin’ Sawdust Workshop, model 440Z
- Black Pickup Truck with Tools, model 4028
Each toy included over-sized plastic nails made of blue or red plastic that could cause choking if swallowed. The toddler did eventually recover and was released from the hospital.
The toys were offered at various major retailers for anywhere between $25 and $100.
Parents should take the nails away from their kids and call Little Tikes, of Ohio, for redesigned replacement nails. Call 800-791-2737 or click here for full details.
