Prince was inspired after watching the Minnesota Vikings defeat the Dallas Cowboys last week at the Metrodome. Maybe it was Brett Favre‘s rendition of “Pants on the Ground” that did it (hear it here).
It looks like “Purple Rain” wasn’t good enough for the Vikings and Prince has written a new song just for them called “Purple and Gold”.
Prince says he penned the new song the night after the game.
“I saw the future,” he says.
OK, oh great-and-powerful Purple One, we’ll buy that for a dollar.
