Lil Wayne is heading to prison. The rap star pleaded guilty to felony gun possession on Thursday and has agreed to spend a year in jail.
Wayne (A.K.A. Dwayne Carter), 27, was presented with the charges following an incident 2 years ago where a loaded gun was found in his tour bus.
He pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in the second degree, which will greatly reduce his sentence.
“Yes, sir,” Carter said during the pre-trial hearing, when asked if he was prepared to plea.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon says that the 12-month term represents a ” greatly reduced sentence.”
Carter left the court on bail with his entourage and will be officially sentenced in February.
