Oops. It’s been quite the week for wardrobe malfunctions. The latest victim was Lady Gaga, who showed fans a little more skin that than she had planned at Monday night’s Council of Fashion Designers of America awards.
Gaga accepted the prestigious Fashion Icon award at the gala held in New York. Wearing a dramatic, asymmetrical black top by Thierry Mugler, platform shoes, and a teal wig, she posed for photographers on the carpet, leaning forward and lifting her arm to reveal her chest to a frenzied crowd.
Lady Gaga now joins the ranks of previous fashion icon winners such as Iman, Kate Moss, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Style experts say the pop icon is more than worthy of the prize.
“She pushes boundaries, she loves fashion,” said CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg, “and she loves dressing up.”
