Lee Jin-gyu fell in love with his “dakimakura” – a large pillow from Japan with a picture of a popular anime character printed on it.  In fact, he loved it so much, he married it.

Lee’s pillow has an image of Fate Testarossa, from the anime series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha.  He married the pillow in a special ceremony, after putting it in a wedding dress for a service with a local priest.

“He is completely obsessed with this pillow and takes it everywhere,” said one of his friends.

“They go out to the park or the funfair where it will go on all the rides with him. Then when he goes out to eat he takes it with him and it gets its own seat and its own meal,” the friend added.

This is not the first usual marriage like this we’ve seen in recent months.  You may recall that a Japanese man married his virtual girlfriend, Nene Anegasaki, a character who only exists in the Nintendo DS game “Love Plus”, last year.
