Kimo Leopoldo: UFC Veteran Dead at 41

UFC veteran Kimo Leopoldo has died of complications stemming from a heart attack.  He was just 41 years of age.

Leopoldo, who often went by simply “Kimo”, made his MMA debut at UFC 3 back in 1994.  He then spent the next 12 years fighting until his retirement after Extreme Wars 5-Battlegrounds back in 2006.

Kimo is said to have struggled with drugs, as he tested positive for steroids near the end of his career.  He was also later charged with possession of marijuana.

The news of Kimo Leopoldo’s death is being reported on several MMA sites and forums, however not by major outlets so other details at this stage are unknown. More when we have it.

Kimo’s fight  style was mainly freestyle, with a blend of different techniques.  He was well known, however, for his strong Christian beliefs and had several religious tattoos.
