Uh oh, Kim Kardashian is a little hot, and not in a good way. Remember Melissa Molinaro, the Kim K. lookalike who’s been appearing in Old Navy ads?
Well, Kim is not happy about it, and this week she filed a lawsuit against Old Navy for knowingly cashing in on her celebrity image.
“We’re seeking damages according to proof,” says Kardashian’s attorney Gary Hecker.
“Kim Kardashian is immediately recognizable and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them,” Hecker said.
“I’ve worked hard to support the products I’m personally involved with and that I believe in,” said the 30-year-old star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Making things even weirder is the fact that Kim’s ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush is now dating Molinaro.
Melissa Molinaro denies she answered a casting call seeking a Kim Kardashian lookalike. She says she was simply told to dress in the style of Prince, Madonna, or Lady Gaga.
“It’s just crazy to me because I think I look like Melissa Molinaro,” Melissa says.
Molinaro also took to Twitter earlier this week to address the lawsuit.
“We’re still talking about this?! Its JULY this aired in February. Some people have too much time on there hands.”
