With parental approval, countless American teenagers were quite literally kidnapped from their beds and dragged away to Escuela Caribe, an American-run Evangelical Christian reform school in The Dominican Republic.
Why did the parents do this? Because their children were gay.
Their parents thought that “kidnapping” their children and having them sent off to reform school would “cure” them.
Sadly, this was all perfectly legal and the children are the ones who pay the price.
