Apparently, Keifer Sutherland is stuck in “Jack Bauer” mode.
The “24” star delivered a massive head-butt to women’s fashion designer Jack McCollough outside a SoHo nightclub on Monday night, breaking McCollough’s nose.
The details are sketchy and there are many, many sides to this story. The truth has yet to be uncovered.
Witnesses had initially reported that Sutherland went ballistic when McCollough bumped into Shields while she was talking to Sutherland around 2am (perfect time for a fight, no?).
Sutherland then demanded that McColough apologize. The two then engaged in a heated discussion that culminated with a Jack Bauer-esque head-butt to McCollough.
Brooke Shields seems to be on McCollough’s side. Her people say that McCollough didn’t provoke the incident at all. They say that Shields did get jostled (off her feet, no less) but that “nothing happened to her.”
McCollough claims that Sutherland was “drunk and obnoxious and wouldn’t back down or be logical.” He went on to state that Keifer Sutherland “pulled this stupid wrestling move like a teenager,” then slammed McCollough in the face.
A police source quoted McCollough as having said that the argument “wasn’t even over anything . . . he was just roiling drunk and looking for something to smack. It didn’t matter what.”
This could be big trouble for Sutherland. He was arrested in 2004 and again on Sept. 25, 2007 for driving drunk. In the 2007 incident, he pleaded “no contest” to the DUI charge and received a sentence of 48 days in jail.
It is rumored that several episodes of “24″ have already been reworked to accommodate various injuries Sutherland has sustained while partying.
