Jon Gosselin’s Apartment Ransacked, Publicity Stunt?

Jon Gosselin’s NYC apartment was ransacked over the weekend.

It sounds as thought the damage was pretty severe…someone used a “butcher knife” to slice up his things.

When he returned to his New York City apartment on December 26 after spending Christmas with his kids, he was “horrified … to observe his furniture, clothing and personal belongings slashed by a very troubled and sick perpetrator,” said Gosselin’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller.

His TV, CD player, coffee maker, Wii system, dishes, pots and pans were among the items reportedly stolen from the apartment.

A note, “speared” into Jon’s bedroom dresser with a butcher knife reportedly had his ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman’s name written on it.

But Glassman’s lawyer, Anand Ahuja, says, “Somebody is trying to frame my client.”

Did Gosselin do this to himself as a poor attempt at a publicity stunt?

“I don’t know anything about any note and I can’t confirm it at this time,” Glassman’s other attorney, Stephanie Ovadia said. “This appears to be a publicity stunt.”

Glassman did apparently take items from the apartment, where she split the rent with Jon Gosselin, but she only took items that belonged to her, according to her attorneys.

Gosselin “told her the apartment would be padlocked because he had not been paying rent, and she should go there and take whatever she wanted,” Ovadia said.

Police fingerprinted and photographed the scene.
