F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
John Fautenberry, a 45-year-old former trucker from Oregon who went on a killing spree in several states, has been executed in Ohio for killing a Cincinnati man who gave him a ride back in 1991.
Fautenberry was pronounced dead at 10:37am EDT on Tuesday morning at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, Ohio.
He was sentenced to death for the murder of Joseph Daron, Jr., who offered Fautenberry a ride as he was hitchhiking on February 17, 1991.
Fautenberry also confessed to killing a four other individuals across 3 states...Alaska, New Jersey, and Oregon, during a five-month period in 1990 and 1991.
Fautenberry is the first inmate executed in Ohio since June 3.
Ohio has executed 30 men since it reinstated the death penalty back in 1999.
