As we mentioned here at Blippitt over the weekend, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the annual White House Correspondents Dinner this year, and the late night funnyman did not disappoint.
Kimmel slayed them Saturday night, and no subject was taboo.
The ABC late night host admitted that he was nervous, but his jokes were quite, and those that weren’t he blamed on Jake Tapper, senior White House correspondent for ABC News.
His delivery was smooth and his timing was perfect.
Kimmel got to throw flames at just about everyone – political celebrities like Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, media darlings like Rupert Murdoch and Keith Olbermann, and true celebrity divas like Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama weren’t safe either.
“I know you won’t be able to laugh at my jokes about the Secret Service,” Kimmel said to the President. “Please cover your ears, if that’s physically possible.”
With regard to Michelle Obama’s big fitness movement, he said, “They say diplomacy is a matter of carrot and sticks, and since Michelle Obama got to the White House – so is dinner.”
He even touched on the Secret Service scandal, singling out Sofia Vergara, who hails from Colombia.
“This is what women look like in Colombia. What do you expect the Secret Service to do?”
