A judge in New York has granted bail for JetBlue flight attendant Steve Slater.
As you may recall, Slater is accused of bitching out passengers over the P.A. system on a flight at JFK, grabbing some beer from the galley, deploying the emergency chute, and fleeing the scene.

He’s been hit with charges of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and trespassing.
Defense attorney Howard Turman asked the judge to release him with no bail. Instead, the judge set bail at $2,500. Slater displayed a slight smile as he was ushered into the courtroom.
Police say Slater totally flipped his lid after a passenger hit him on the head with her luggage.
In arguing against setting bail, Turman had stated that Slater’s mother has lung cancer.
Several Facebook pages have already been set up praising Slater, with many people idolizing the way in which he departed from his employer.
