Jenny Slate can breathe a sigh of relief.
NBC has said that it will not fire the new SNL cast member for accidentally dropping an f-bomb during the Saturday night’s season premiere.
See the Jenny Slate f-bomb slip up here.
Slate accidentally let the obscenity slip during her first major skit on the show, which was hosted by Megan Fox.
Jenny Slate was doing a skit where she played the host of a biker chick talk-show with co-star Kristen Wiig when the slip occurred.
“You know what? You friggin’ just threw an ashtray full of butts at my head,” Slate said. “You know what? You stood up for yourself, and I f—ing love you for that.”
Instantly, a look of horror washed over the actress’ face.
The f-bomb made it onto the airwaves on the East Coast. On the West Coast, however, producers covered Slate’s error with “friggin’.”
NBC spokeswoman Sharon Pannozzo had this to say regarding the incident:
“No truth to firing conjecture. She will not be fired.”
Apparently, there was still a great deal of concern over the fact that the f-bomb made it to the airwaves. SNL execs held a big meeting after the show, a source said.
“It was a very big deal that the F-word hit the air,” the source said. Due to the fact that gaffe happened at about 12:40 a.m. EDT, SNL likely won’t face fines from the FCC.
Interestingly, Slate didn’t attend the show’s after-party at Pranna on Madison Ave.
