Jeff Ament, bass player for the band Pearl Jam, was injured in a violent robbery outside Southern Tracks Recording studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
The band is currently recording their ninth studio album in that same studio.
According to police, Ament and another band employee pulled up to the back entrance to the studio on April 27th when three men with knives wearing black masks jumped out of the woods.
The assailants broke the windows of their rented Jeep and also snagged a BlackBerry before demanding money.
As a result, Ament was robbed of $3,000 in cash, $4,320 worth of equipment, and his passport.
The bass player was chased and knocked to the ground. He injured his head and was treated by EMS.
The burglars got away by jumping into black Nissan Maxima and fleeing the scene.
The whole thing was caught by a surveillance camera but thus far, no arrests have been made. Pearl Jam has declined to comment on the incident.
