UPDATE: The image is no longer available here as Time, Inc. has decide to abuse the DMCA, even though the image is clearly “fair use”.  You can read more about it here, as Duncan over at The Inquisitr got the same letter we did.  Instead, please enjoy the lovely video at the end of our post, which is from Sky News, which shows the EXACT same image.

Also, we would urge you not to purchase People magazine, as they seem inclined to threaten and sue the very bloggers who are basically providing them with free publicity.

Ever since Jaycee Dugard was found back in August of this year, having spent the last 18 years in captivity at the hands of a madman, America has been searching for a picture of what Jaycee looks like today.

That wait is now over.

People magazine has released an exclusive image of Jaycee Lee Dugard along with a written statement.

“I’m so happy to be back with my family,” she tells PEOPLE.

Now living in seclusion with her mom, Terry Probyn, 50, and the two daughters – Angel, 15, and Starlit, 11 – fathered by her alleged kidnapper, Phillip Garrido, Dugard, 29, has begun the slow process of recovery. She rides horses, cooks meals and is thinking of collaborating on a book.

“They live a surprisingly normal life, considering the circumstances,” says Terry’s stepmother, Joan Curry.

The new issue of People will hit newsstands this Friday, with more details on what Jaycee Dugard is doing with her life, now that she’s gotten it back.
