Actor James Van Der Beek has filed for divorce from his wife, actress Heather McComb, after being married for almost six years.

Van Der Beek is most known for his role as Dawson Leery on the WB series Dawson’s Creek. He filed for the divorce based on the wonderfully generic grounds of "irreconcilable differences" in L.A. Superior Court last Friday.

James Van Der Beek, 32, recently did four episodes of One Tree Hill and been in other big-screen films like Varsity Blues and The Rules of Attraction. Heather McComb has been a supporting actress in various movies and TV shows.

The couple got hitched in July of 2003, but have been separated for almost five months now. They have no children together.
