James Holmes, the accused shooter in this weekend’s tragic Colorado movie theater massacre, appeared in court for the first time today.
For the most part, Holmes seemed dazed an unresponsive as the judge discussed his case.
Perhaps most disturbing was the fact that Holmes sported bright red hair. It’s been reported that when police first asked him who he was after the shooting, he replied, “I’m the Joker.”
It seems he wanted to do everything possible to play the part fully, including dying his hair.
In all, 12 people were killed and dozens injured on Thursday night when Holmes entered a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” and opened fire.
How did James Holmes go from someone neighbors described as an “all-American kid” to a deranged madman? Rumors have begun circulating that he was hooked on Vicodin and other powerful prescription medications, but it will likely take months to sort out the sordid details.
