All day long, I've been seeing stories about how Twitter is getting ready to roll out its new Twitter Premium service.
According to Jessica E. Vascellaro at the Wall Street Journal we could see the arrival of Pro accounts on Twitter this year. The accounts would give users extra features in exchange for a fee but Twitter hasn’t set a date for them being implemented.
The premium accounts (allegedly) would range from $5 - $250 a month, and would include features such as:
- Higher character limit
- Free “random followers”
- Listing on the “Recommended People To Follow” list
- Celebrity followers…
…and more!
Now, it's looking like this was all a big hoax. Granted, I might actually be tempted to look into a premium account if it offered more visibilty and more free users.
Still, one would think these kinds of stories would be verified before hitting the press.
UPDATE: It now seems as though there may actually be SOME validity to these rumors. We'll give you more when we have it.
