Is Google Pushing Affiliate Products or Just Showing Off?

I just saw a new post on the Official Google Blog that made me wonder what the heck is going on over there.

Here is the post.

Now, when I first saw this thing I thought, "Hmmm, maybe Google is pushing a recipe book as an affiliate.  Why not?  If THEY can't rank #1, who can?"

Nah, Google surely doesn't need some meager Amazon fee.  Then I realized, Google must just be showing off all of their cool toys.  In just one post, Google has used their book service, their mapping service, their resources service, and of course, their Picasa photo service.

Not a bad little trick, really.  Still, with Google entering the phone market, the browser market, etc these days, I wonder how long it will be before I hop into my Google vehicle and take the Google interstate to my job, at a company owned by Google.

Next thing you know, they'll have their own channel on YouTube.
