Apple has pulled the plug on another popular iPhone app. Sex Offender, an app that helps you locate sexual predators in your area, has been removed from the App Store.
The app has consistently been in the top 10 paid apps for several weeks, but now it’s gone. The creators of the app are reportedly considering filing a lawsuit against Apple.
Some are speculating that the removal was due to the fact that the app’s creators were charging for the application.
Selling people’s personal data (even that of ex-criminals) for profit is against the law. Perhaps if they resubmit it as a free app, they might be able to get it back in the App Store.
Still, without any word from Apple on why the Sex Offender app was removed, it’s just conjecture at this point.
