Mozilla's Firefox browser has also passed 20 percent market share for the first time.
Google certainly isn't showing any reluctance to kick Microsoft down even further...they now automatically recommend that Gmail users running IE6 switch over to Firefox or Google's own Chrome browser. Google seems to be hoping that those users don't realize that IE7 exists.
Preliminary numbers for December usage also seem to show that Microsoft has lost more ground, now coming in at just over 68 percent market share.
