install google chromeGoogle dominates the internet.  They have cornered the search market, beating Yahoo Search, Microsoft Live Search, Ask Search, and everyone else under the sun.

Now, they’re going to corner the TV advertising market too.

“Turn off your TV, and go install Google Chrome.”

Google is about to start running TV ads for its Google Chrome browser.  Google usually relies its own momentum to push products, but in this case, the company is really eager to see the Chrome browser increase in market share.

Not only do they want to outpace Firefox, Opera, and all the others, but just imagine the mountains of data they could collect on internet users if everyone used Chrome.

The commercial doesn’t use any words at all, it’s very artistic.  In fact, I really like the ad.  It’s almost enough to make you forget the subtle, almost-subliminal effect of the final words that appear on the screen.

“Install Google Chrome.”

I’m reminded of the movie “Crazy People” which starred Dudley Moore as an advertising rep who snapped and made crazy ad campaigns for big comanies, like:

“Sony, because Americans are too damned tall.”

I can see it now:

“Google Chrome: because We Don’t Know Enough about You Yet.”
