4 World Trade CenterOuch!  It seems a construction worker at 4 World Trade Center fell and became impaled on a piece of metal yesterday.

The 37-year-old male victim fell four to five feet and landed on the piece of metal.  An FDNY official confirmed the worker sustained a puncture wound on his side and is now in critical condition, although he is expected to survive.

The accident came on the heels of Monday’s celebration as 4 WTC received its final steel beam, marking the completion of the site’s second building since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Seven World Trade Center was completed in 2006, the first structure to be finished standing at 52 stories.

4 World Trade Center happens to be the same tower where several steel beams came crashing down 40 stories back in February.

The structure now stands at 977 feet tall with 72 stories. The building’s interior should be finished by Fall of 2013.
