You thought “Twilight” was big? Get ready for “Hunger Games”.
Today, Lionsgate finally debuted the first full-blown trailer for the the big screen adaptation of the first book in Suzanne Collins‘ teen dystopia book franchise. As the March 23 release date draws closer, the studio is giving fans an extended look at the world of death matches, romance, and survival, with the trailer debuting this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Jennifer Lawrence is the star, playing Katniss, a youngster who competes in the Hunger Games, a nationally televised tournament to the death. Josh Hutcherson plays fellow competitor Peeta and Liam Hemsworth plays Katniss’ friend Gale.
The rest of the cast includes Elizabeth Banks as Katniss’ guide Effie Trinket, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Donald Sutherland as President Snow, and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy.
