Hunch is here, and it's open to the public. If you haven't heard of it, Hunch is a new website that is the brainchild of Caterina Fake, co-founder of Flickr.
The goal of Hunch is a unique one...to learn about you, and then help you make decisions based on what it has learned. Basically, you just ask it a question, and it gives you an answer based on what it has learned from you.
Perhaps the Hunch website describes it best:
In 10 questions or less, Hunch will offer you a great solution to your problem, concern or dilemma, on hundreds of topics. Hunch's answers are based on the collective knowledge of the entire Hunch community, narrowed down to people like you, or just enough like you that you might be mistaken for each other in a dark room. Hunch is designed so that every time it's used, it learns something new. That means Hunch's hunches are always getting better.
To get you started, Hunch will ask you 10 or so questions to learn more about your personality. Personally, I would love to see the algorithm involved because the second question it asked me had to do with whether or not I thought alien abductions were real.
Once you've answered the questions, you can then get answers tailored to your specific personality type.
It's a pretty fascinating site. The answers might surprise you.
Of course, Hunch told me that I spend too much time online. Tell me something I don't already know. :-)
