Just because the divorce is final doesn’t mean the ugliness is over.
Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) is taking his ex-wife Linda Bollea to court to refute allegations that he abused her during their 24-year relationship and that he had a gay love affair with another wrestler.
The source of the drama is Linda’s autobiography, “Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes”, which came out earlier this year.
In the book, Linda claims that Hulk would physically abuse her, including dragging her by the hair and clothes and choking her.
During her promotional tour for the book, Linda hinted to one interviewer that Hogan may have had a gay affair with Brutus Beefcake (real name Ed Leslie).
In a separate interview, she compared herself to Nicole Brown Simpson, the slain ex-wife of O.J. Simpson.
Hulk Hogan has now filed a civil lawsuit in Clearwater, Florida claiming that the book and the interviews Linda Bollea has given have “harmed the reputation of Mr. Bollea, exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule.”
The book and interviews could be construed as payback revenge for Hulk’s own revealing book “My Life Outside the Ring”, which came out in 2009 saying that Linda was an “abusive alcoholic.”
The Hogans became the subject of the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 until 2007. Shortly after the show was cancelled, Linda Hogan filed for divorce after rumors swirled indicating Hulk had an affair with a female friend of their daughter.
