Get ready, the viral internet machine is cranking itself up once again, and this time the target is someone, or should I say something, you might not expect – Heidi the Cross-Eyed Opossum.

Heidi, the two and a half-year-old opossum now living at Germany’s Leipzig Zoo, has become an internet sensation and already has over 145,000 fans on her Facebook page.
The zoo where Heidi currently lives in Leipzig had no idea she would create such a world-wide buzz when she arrived from Denmark in May of last year with her sister Naira and another male opossum.
The zoo has now even created a section on its official website where people can ask questions about Heidi the Cross-Eyed Opossum. Supervisors don’t know why she is cross-eyed, but they think it could be due to a poor diet when she was very young.
