What is the mysterious Halo over Moscow? That is the question residents asked themselves last Wednesday when it hovered over the city.
Is it the precursor to an alien invasion? Is this the end of all things? Not likely.
Forecasters in Moscow say that several weather fronts had passed through the city as the sun shined from the west, thereby causing the ominous effect.
A spokesman says: “This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive. If you look closer, you can see sun rays coming through that cloud. Most likely, the sun was setting when the video was being made.”
Others, though, aren’t convinced.
Nick Pope, a former UFO analyst for the Ministry of Defense, inspected the amazing footage (below).
“I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s a true mystery. Whatever it is, it’s one of the most beautiful and spectacular things I’ve ever seen,” he said.
