Almost one year after Madonna called him “emotionally retarded,” her former hubby Guy Ritchie stated in an interview with Esquire that he still loves the Material Girl, even though she is “retarded” herself.
Ritchie, 41, said that Madonna “makes things happen” and is meticulous when it comes to her work.
“And, of course, here you go: I still love her,” Ritchie said. “But she’s retarded, too.”
The pair put the finishing touches on their divorce in a U.K. court in November of 2008. They had been married for 8 years. Together, they have a 9-year-old son and also adopted a boy from Malawi.
Back in October of 2008, Madonna had a concert in Boston and told those in attendance, “This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall in that category. I know I do.”
Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” tour finished up in Israel last month. The tour shattered her own record for “top-grossing tour by a solo artist” with over $400 million from the string of 85 concerts.
