Today, I had the opportunity to attend “The Convenient Truth” a special conference offered by GreenConnected.com.
In case you haven’t heard of them, and you probably haven’t….yet, GreenConnected is the first website of its kind to bring together the green movement for all companies, organizations, and individuals.
Today’s conference was truly fascinating. Did you know that the entire country of Greenland is slowly melting away? Not only that, but the polar ice caps are doing the same. Once their reflective surface disappears, Earth will change from a “reflector” of the sun’s energy, to an “absorber”…and boy you’d better have a decent air conditioning system when that happens.
I also got a sample of a new “green” envelope that you can “plant” in the ground. Flowers will then bloom where you planted your envelope. I don’t know how it works, but it works.
Not only was today’s conference educational, but it was also fun. I got to meet Baltimore Ravens kicker, Matt Stover, as well as former Ravens punter Kyle Richardson, both part of GreenConnected’s “Board of Interests”.
