google unexplained phenomenonIt’s causing quite a lot of buzz this weekend, but could we finally have stumbled across the explanation for Google‘s “unexplained phenomenon” logo?

All day Friday and Saturday, Google displayed the Google Doodle logo to the right on it’s website.

The company also sent out a cryptic tweet that, when translated, read “All your O are belong to us,” a play on the good old “All your base are belong to us” line from the 90′s.

Now, after lots and lots of speculation as to what the heck is going on over at Google, there could possibly be a somewhat plausible explanation.

Take a look at the website for the O Campaign.  Basically, it’s a “non-profit campaign forging alliances between the public, academia, corporations, and institutions in effort to efficiently channel resources for high-paced development of cutting-edge research in cancer prevention.”

Right up Google’s alley, don’t you think?

The co-director of this campaign is none other than Joseph James Jung, an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley and philanthropist who collaborates with boards of selected companies, universities and organizations. The first company mentioned in Jung’s bio is….drum roll please…Google!

Of all the explanations offered so far, this one seems to make the most sense.  The truth is out there, friends.
