In what is bound to be an epic move by Google, the company has circumvented Apple and AT&T's rejection of its Google Voice iPhone app by reinventing it as a web-based application.
Google is preparing a new version of the Google Voice app that will have the exact same features as the rejected app, with the exception that it will now be in the form of an iPhone-sized web page.
The web app will behave exactly the same as the rejected iPhone app would have. In fact, you will even be able to install it as a Home screen icon if you so desire.
The only option for AT&T and/or Apple would then be to block access to that URL from iPhones. You can bet that the Feds would take that kind of censorship quite seriously.
Well played, Google. Well played.
