google squared labsGoogle Squared launched earlier this year amid lots of hype.

Google Squared is a project from Google Labs that takes search results for any query, such as “U.S. presidents,” and presents the results as a table with to help you more easily sort the results.

Despite, the excitement over the product, its launch was met with a collective “Meh” as it turned out to be rather buggy.

On Friday, however, Google announced via a blog post that the company had made “a number of improvements to the amount and quality of information you can find with Google Squared, as well as new tools to sort and export the data.”

For example, Google Squared can now return 120 facts organized in rows and columns, as opposed to just 30 when it first launched. The filters have also improved, which was surely an issue with the first batch of Google Squared results.

As Google points out, a search for US presidents, for example, initially returned a table with only five presidents and three categories. Now, thought, this search yields data on 20 presidents and lists up to six attributes. Squared also now gives users the option to sort columns.

It will be interesting to see if these improvements can lure users back to the service to give it another shot.
