Google Reader has just added a few more social features. Tonight, they've introduced the addition of comments to your friends’ shared items. To get to this new feature, you'll have to go down to your Friends’ Shared Items, then click “Comment View.”
Then you can add comments to any of your friends’ items and see which of your buddies have recently commented on things.
As Google Reader shows full RSS feeds, the “Comments” feature basically functions the same as it would on an actual blog post, which could discourage readers from actually VISITING the site in question. Hmmm.
Still, this does allow you to have a more private conversation as opposed to blog commenting which is public.
