Google has announced that they are pulling the plug on Lively, its browser-baseed virtual world application that could be embedded into other sites.
We were beginning to wonder why this program didn't even work in Chrome, and this would seem to explain it.
The official notification says that the plug will be pulled on December 31 of this year.
The truth is, Lively was pretty much dead anyway. As TechCrunch reports, after an initial spike, Lively flat-lined...
Google says,
"It has been a tough decision, but we want to ensure that we prioritize our resources and focus more on our core search, ads and apps business."
R.I.P. Lively.
