Google Adsense
Google Adsense is currently preparing and mailing tax forms to eligible U.S. publishers and will be sending them out by the end of January. Please keep in mind that not all U.S. AdSense publishers will receive a tax form from Google.
How do you know whether to expect a tax form? Google will send you one if:
* You submitted a Form W-9, are not a corporation, and were paid at least US $600 in 2008, OR
* You indicated that you are subject to backup withholding and had taxes withheld
If you qualify for a tax form, you can expect it to arrive at the address listed in your account by early February. We recommend checking your account to ensure that your mailing address is up-to-date.
We also recommend that you learn how to make $40,000 per month with Google Adsense by reading Adsense Big.
Get ready to celebrate Valentine's Day and President's Day with ad templates dressed up specially for the occasions. In a few days, Google will offer seven new templates in the display ad builder -- each with elements and animations designed for the upcoming holidays.
You can find some screenshots of a few upcoming templates below. Keep in mind that customization options for each template will vary, so you should really check out all the options once you're ready to create your ads.
The new holiday templates will be offered in all of the display ad builder's 13 languages.
We highly recommend that you learn how to manage your PPC ads more effectively and make Adwords your own personal home business by joining PPC Coach.
Print Is Dead
Last, but certainly not least, Google’s dream of ruling the advertising world may have hit a minor roadblock today. Today, they announced that they will no longer be selling print ads in newspapers. In a blog post, Spencer Spinnell, Director of Google Print Ads, writes:
While we hoped that Print Ads would create a new revenue stream for newspapers and produce more relevant advertising for consumers, the product has not created the impact that we — or our partners — wanted. As a result, we will stop offering Print Ads on February 28. For advertisers who have campaigns already booked, we will place their ads through March 31.
We launched our Print Ads program with 50 newspaper partners in November 2006 and, with the cooperation of our partners, were able to expand the network to include more than 800 U.S. newspapers.
So, where does this leave you? If you want to learn how to completely dominate advertising in offline classifieds, you simply must buy The Rich Ad Freak. This is hands-down the best book I have ever read on offline advertising.
